Yes it will be frugal, but 12 hours on your home solar for 400km or range is not going to get you around the country in a hurry.

The times you are looking for aint here yet.

If you want to save the planet - walk. If you want to drive to work/shops, maybe get a little EV - you certainly dont need a big 4x4 for that.
Looking at the JLR range which has a 177kw 2.0 diesl, a 221kw 3.0 diesel, a 280 kw 3.0 petrol, tell me again why you would want a V8, a EV will be welcomed by the Sloane Ranger market segment, which will be bigger than the overlander segment, who should be more than happy with 177 kw 2.0.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Its stroke Trout. The 4.6 LR has the same bore as the 4.0 but loads more torque.

    Cheers

Now back on topicWon’t be retro....

V8 petrol defender would be nice, would consider one definitely if the price was reasonable.
31,000 views your always going to get a lot of mod reports, especially when someone dare say something is more reliable then a defender! Won’t be retro...

I personally reported 2 posts that where not in keeping with AULRO's best interests, however was told was tame or everything is fine both times??

If someone goes "off topic" and says a Toyota is more reliable than a defender and defenders have issues galore and toyotas can do no wrong, do you leave it sitting there on a LR forum, report it or defend it yourself?? I think on a land rover forum you must defend respectfully without attacking personally. Then get back on topic quickly.

    Agreed V8 defender ftw

V8 or Supercharged V8 SVX defender please JLR? Won’t be retro...

Debating the virtues or not of a vehicle or brand should be an entirely non-personal topic and should not be made personal. Those who take it personally are missing the point of the discussion.
FWIW,and NOT having a go at anyone,or the mods, only in my opinion, the mods should have stepped in earlier.

As they have done in other threads, for good reason.

    That is their job.

Sure Toyotas have issues, but if any LandRover owner thinks they are better or more reliable than a Toyota either your in Denial or have never owned a Toyota .

One of the best virtues of Defenders which has always set them apart from other large HD 4x4s has been their frugality with fuel. I hope the next Defender really moves with the times and goes full EV. Our climate is on the brink of catastrophe. Our planet needs to be better respected too.
There will be a full EV defender and most likely all other LR RR Disco products, MLA has 3 options
