My brother in law in Japan has an Edix with three seats across the front and this Defender looks a lot like that.

Maybe that's why the long-wheelbase pilot build looks so short?

Reportedly JLR US says "older out-of-date internal photo" so who knows whats been tweaked

Gearstick on dash allows middle seat, its dash or column. Looks like current svr style stick.

The alternative of dials is another touch screen so its a compromise to keep it rugged and tactile, im sure they will make sure everything is practicle for everyday use.

To be honest I'm still taken back by the whole 3 seat in the front thing really did not see that coming at all, and based on the comments from the dealer already posted earlier it seems like it's true.

So much drama and intregue for a defender thread haha

Particularly as the middle front seat has been removed from nearly all vehicles on the market,in Aus,including many commercial vehicles, due to safety regulations..

Actually i really have no idea,maybe a centre airbag,or centre airbags?
Or a weight or size restriction for middle seat occupiers?

LR do seem to lead the way with new stuff,so its probably not that surprising,and would definitely compliment a single cab utility.

Three seater would differentiate the Defender in the Ute market.
