Dealers that I have talked to already have pretty solid order banks on Defender, and many of us, including myself, are ordering products for our own individual use and also to put away. And I don't do that very often. We sell a lot of great brands, but I am so excited about this product that I have one coming for myself.

Following up on this I can tell you it is 100% accurate you can now pre-order the new Land Rover Defender at Australian dealerships aswell. 3k refundable. Have confirmed with local dealer.

Basically means you get put to the front of the line when ordering starts.

Deposit is subject to pricing and viewing.

Lots of people dont care (and more power to them) but I will wait. Never seen the first year run of any vehicle that wasnt a fair bit more problematic than subsequent years. Cheers

Wow! 3k..... that's more than for a RR building slot. Saying that depending dealer-customer relation he will do it for free....m

Yeah, but its refundable so ya can't really loose, dont like price or looks,refund, do like order. I think with all the testing these days, products they release are good to go.
Look at D5, Velar, Evoque, Fpace, Ipace etc.

One could potentially lose..... i don't want to even consider the scenario as to how, but in the state of things these days it is foreseeable.

Im pretty sure the UK and india would bail JLR out should they get into dire financial trouble.

It was a quick post while I was working. What I meant was lots of people dont care about the fact that the first run can be problematic and purchase anyway (and more power to them). I didnt mean lots of people dont care about the fact that you went and got the info. I can see why you might have read my post that way, but it's not what I meant to say.

And from my own experience,not what a mates brothers,uncles,son said,my first D2 was one of the very first shipped into the country.

After that experience,I will never buy the first of any model run ever again.

Later on I bought one of the last D2a,and it was one of the best vehicles I have ever had.

I am interested in the new Defender and will be in the market in November 2020. When the rumours of a 2018 release date came out I was happy thinking “it will be out for 2 years before I look at buying”. Now? Well honestly who knows!
