Wood smoke is fairly toxic, but not nearly as bad as tobacco smoke. And, as you say it is not deliberately breathed in deeply.

Speaking for myself, I try to not sit in the smoke!

Looks like short term wood smoke, which it almost always is camping, has nil long term health effects.
Short-term exposure to high concentrations of wood smoke has no long-term effect: study | ScienceNordic
However short term passive smoking looks to have immediate harmful effects on the cardiovascular system that can increase the risk of heart attack. People who already have heart disease or asthma are at especially high risk.

I can't see many negatives with hybrid/regen as long as its reliable, 80% or so of my trips would be shortish, most likely well bellow hybrid range.
Toyota has been doing this for a decade with its hybrids, starting with the Prius and now spreading through its range. JLR is late to this party.

LandRover actually made a Hybrid in 1993 well before Toyota thought one up .

A 3 Phase AC PM / Induction motor or Brushless DC motor (which is technically a 3 Phase AC motor) is equally suitable as a Motor or Generator so a specific generator is not needed for regen braking.

As an example My DIY EV Landy has a 66kw 3 Phase AC Induction Motor. Looking at the Power meter part ( RHS quadrant) of this video overlay of my Android display over dash cam shows Power consumed ( turns red) versus Power Regenerated under braking (turns green) Obviously on long flat roads not much regen occurs (6% in this drive) but in town about 15% power is recuperated from braking, And going downhill is just like plugging into a charger.

This thread has gone up in smoke. If anyone is interested in discussing effects of passive woodfire vs passive tobacco leaf, please start a new thread.

I see what ya did there, haha nice Won’t be retro...Won’t be retro...

Respectfully, I think its fair that people reply to comments made, and its true woodfire can be harmfull, cheers for that, but not in the short term like cigs.

It was in context with the whole public switching to EV due to being socially acceptable to be fair, in the same way cigs became socially bad.

Agree with need to not stray too far off topic and keep it relevant.
