Hmm.. I hear what you're saying however

    Look at the competition.

Does that mean the v8s in the current Range Rover sports and Range Rovers will also not be available come sept 2019

Also will the miriad of other v8s avail cease to exisit sept 2019 in other cars including Gwagon, Nissan patrol, Landcruiser 200/79,Jeep just about every US built truck.

Not saying they will be around forever, but efficient modern V8 will still be around for quite some time yet.

No thats silly to thing existing engines are going to desist in 2020,
It just means no more ICE development , V8's are history .

Didn't fords engine contract end this year with JLR

Ford planning to close Bridgend plant, putting 1,700 jobs at risk | Business | The Guardian

"The Bridgend plant has manufactured engines since 1980. However, the plant, which sends petrol engines to Ford factories across Europe, was thought to be particularly at risk because a contract to manufacture engines for JLR will end this year."

Hence the LR straight 6 ingenium amongst other new options and BMW v8 etc.

Straight 6 Ingenium is a new ICE development.

I would also disagree V8s are history, i would say millions per year are still sold, they will just move them to mild hybrid and hybrid.

So you reckon no company is currently developing any automotive ICE engines at all? Seems a bit far fetched.

That would be about right, only the ones that want to go broke or already have engines under development. Theres probably still a petrol future beyond the diesel ban.
Mazda are also developing smaller rotaries to be used as EV range extenders .

Not really interested in any on road comparison, as long as it gets from A-B at the speed limit is all that matters.
A member on here whom now owns a patrol, and stepped out of a pretty modified puma, said the stock patrol would leave a stock puma for dead in the bush, but not so against his dual locked large rubbered landy (puma), but it would give it a good run for its money.
