Curb strikes are a tough measure, but I wonder how the vehicle will fare against endless corrugations and washouts at speed. We shall have to wait and see!
Yep, however i believe the recovery point is central on the new defender and rated at 9 or 10t.
So not sure whats going on with this, maybe the put the number wrong, can see central point off subframe in lower pic.
Top mono chassis looks strong just like a chassis, barwork like the LR AU winch/bullbar or aftermarket can no doubt be hung

Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.
Have you all found and downloaded the LandRover Defender AR app????

Not sure what the RRS is rated at but it looks identical to the Defender image.
Indeed you need to remove a plastic panel on the RRS to get to the recovery eye - but my wife has perfected the removal process. She has perfected a technique in which she parks over a high car park stopper at the supermarket, when she returns to the car after shopping she reverses out again while the suspension is still in access height mode - rips the panel clear off in a fraction of a second.
It is quite possible for the recovery point (or any other part) to look the same as on other models but be much stronger, for example, by using thicker metal or different alloy.
Landrover has form in this sort of thing - the first coil spring Landrovers had most of the new bits in the drive train and suspension that looked the same as the equivalent in the contemporary Rangerover - and while most were interchangeable, the Landrover bits were beefed up. (Later they were "rationalised", which in some cases meant adopting the RR part in the LR, very occasionally the reverse, more often a new part somewhere in between.)
