Raemus Rover, doing good, Bob [ like the bit about they got the engine out of a farmers shed]

    listen to the audio, classic
Raemus Rover back to Finke after 22 years in museum - ABC Rural (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

That's a great interview the car has come a long way since then and will be back at finke next year with a second vehicle for the team. These days the car has had some suspension updates and some diff work. We will be racing again at the end of the month then it will be time to concern traits on getting the new car easy whilst maintaining the old girl.

    Cheers

Good to see mate, please keep us informed. I am a member of the Redcliffe VVAA, & mick, our publicity officer , would love to keep the members in the loop. Any news on AULRO involvement, would go down well, Bob

    G'day bob
I'll do my best to keep you guys updated. I have been trying to get hold of the guy doing the disc brake conversion but have not had any luck as yet I have a phone number from lotz a landies and tried to PM but have not managed to get him. Better braking is the next evolution for the car as the old drum brakes don't do much for stopping when you are racing. We are always after more sponsors so if you know any one that would like to get involved please shoot me a PM and I'll send you my number. We have the face book page that we put regular photos on and we also hope to have a website up in the not to distant future.

The car is still run by volunteers we do get good support from queensland RSL for all our safety gear. But we are always looking for more support especially as we push towards building the second vehicle.

    Cheers

I have found a stack of photos from RAEMUS early days, which I can also scan and post, but I don't know anything of them as it was before our time with her. I also have a stack more photos of Son of RAEMUS that I am yet to find.
    Hey there Jase,
I'm in the RSL Raemus Rover Racing team. I did up a short video from photos and footage from the last 18 months or so. But since doing it, I was asked if mind if the video gets passed around our sponsors and the like, plus for anyone curious what we do. Anyway, from a quick slap together, I'm now spending the time to do it properly, however we as the team have also agreed to have some short interview type clips with current and maybe former members of the team, a bit of history etc. The other thing is that I've been trying to track down some old photos or film from the early days, both the series II and the 'Son of Raemus',,, even that little buggy that was seen in some of the photos you posted would be great. It's quite ironic that back in the days when your dad was running things there was two Rovers and a buggy,,, and there is the same line up again, but a different series III and a different buggy :P
I stumbled on your post, and saw your pix,,, would you mind if I used some of them? And if you happen to have more, then awesome

    Anyway, let me know

    Cheers

    Cameron
