2.6l cracked Manifold fix??
Hi all,
I have a fine hairline crack in the exhaust manifold of my 2.6l Series 3.
Very small and hasn't propagated too far.
Just noticed it after sandblasting - Has anyone got any experience using a product called Fireseal 2000? from the Por 15 people ?

No , but a good boiler maker should be able to weld the manifold and fix the crack before oit gets much worse

Weld it
I had my manifold welded. Lucky the crack was reachable to weld with cast iron rods in situ.
Alternatively you need to bolt it to a plate ( or sister it to a similar, but if you had a spare you would have fitted it and be driving away) .. So it doesn't warp.
You usually preheat the cast before welding.

I bought a NOS one a couple of years ago for about $180, if you find one around this price it's probably cheaper than getting it welded up....

Scott
