Thanks to Grommit I have acquired a "hard top" windscreen. It would be possible to convert from one to the other, but a lot of "unpicking" involved. Much easier to just swap screens.
Hi all,
Has anyone here put a civilian truck cab onto a military LWB S3 soft top? I know I'm getting old and soft, but in my defence it has been cold in Melbourne this winter, and Baldrick is spending a fair bit of time out in the rain.
Specifically, what needs to come off the top of the windscreen and what needs to go on? The cab I have is in bits and I'm not sure it is all there, nor does it have mounting hardware. I have no issues with fabricating stuff if I have to. Also, all of the rubber seals are badly perished. I've done an EBay trawl and can find various bits, but should I just pop into Clark Rubber? If the view is that "original" seals are the go, can anyone make a recommendation as to supplier?
Thanks & Regards,
Alan

A chap called 'LionelG has a Series 3 called 'Baldrick' as well, cheers Dennis
I'm sure there are a few fans of Blackadder on here!
Although my S3 has a modified roof (lab roof cut to single cab!) I made up a panel for behind the seats, photo here

I've looked into this with my 64 S2a which is currently a hardtop.
You can buy the soft top frame kit from few places in England. This place has everything you need, but the cost is quite expensive for the hood frame kit, tilt and rollbar.

AFAIK its a bolt on deal, you just need to remove the shark tooth thingy on top of the screen, and the sides, and of course the hood sticks, and the roof and cab just bolts on. Bear in mind u need to get a cab that has the shoulder seat belt mounts in it.
Good luck with it.
Cheers Rod

To my knowledge, once you unscrew the sharks teeth panel from the top of the screen frame, the hard top just bolts on the top of the frame. Mine had a strip of flat foam between the two.
If you have a surplus sharks teeth strip, I may be interested in it as I am doing the reverse conversion as present.
