Diana thanks for the photos and yes the light blue Triumph sedan is the one i was after, albeit a Triumph 2000 but the same model as my 2.5PI.

EDIT; the motor in the TR5 pictured has the mechanical Fuel injection, not down draft carbs.
    Thanks Baz

I bet your 2.5Lt didn't have a yellow duck on the bonnet either! Will have to look when I get home however I thought that one was a 2500 cc engine also. But could be wrong!

Regarding the TR5, I thought they were side draft carbs, but you say they were mechanical fuel injection. I wonder if something could be adapted to provide fuel injection to LR engines, thinking in particular the 2 1/4litre?

    Diana

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I just had another look at the Triumph and it is the 2.5PI, i noticed the PI badge on the C pillar, didn't see that the first time, maybe the colour threw me

But with a 135mph top speed and as quick as a GTS V8 Monaro, they were quite a beast

Dunno about converting the fuel injection from the Triumph, the metering unit that controlled the fuel injection wasn't that reliable, although i didn't have any problems with mine, but i did have it serviced on a regular basis.

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.
