    Haulmark 750Kg trailer

Have just purchased a new (to me) trailer, it is currently army green bit wanting some info and suggestions.

It is the correct track for my RRc but sits very high on the suspension. I was thinking I could shorten up the front spring mount. Would it be O.K. if the springs weren't level or should I also shorten the rear of the shackle bracket.

I could mount a couple of jerry can holders just in front of the wheels.

Do people think It would look good in the same colour as my RRc? The good thing is that it has the same studs as the Rangie so I can fit up a pair of alloys. Would that be the right thing to do or would the steel wheels be better for a trailer?

Where can I get a good tent unit to put on the top?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hi Diana,
I think you are going about this the wrong way. Keep the trailer's chassis/suspension and drawbar, chop up that silly sparkly rangie and use the tub on top of the trailer's underpinnings. The weight of the rangie tubby bits will allow the suspension to settle somewhat. Fit a flat top to the tub and chuck your swag on it. Paint the ensemble olive drab and you're set.

No I like my RRc "Vague"!

But what I could do is to get some RRc alloy panels and fit them along the sides over the mudguards of the trailer. That way the profile of the trailer sides would match the RRc and the Jerry cans could be hidden behind the alloy skin.

I already have too much stuff in OD the Everglade Green is a much brighter colour.

So you think the Alloy rims are the go? I have 14 of that pattern, so I could use the ones with the muddies and not the ones on the 2 RRc "Vague" and "Bluey".

Yeah go the alloys, got to keep things consistant.
You are probably better off removing that antiquated tow hitch too and putting a proper ball and cup hitch on it.

    Antiquated coupling, yes very bulky.

My mate Gary has a Treg hitch coupling for a No.5 he doesn't want. I'll cut the lunette off and weld in the Treg part.

    Much more modern.

So who makes the best fold out tents?

There is enough room on the drawbar that I could fit one of those stainless steel pull out kitchens. Make a real camper trailer out of it!

    Thanks Kaa45

However that is a free standing tent, I was thinking more of something that I could drill a few holes or weld in place on the trailer and when attached you'd fold open the tent like an accordion and it would be a ready erected camp kitchen and bedroom.

I may even cut the top off the trailer so I don't have to climb up so far!

Addit: Have just had a great suggestion, a 6" lift on Vague and 35" muddies on both Vague and the trailer. Then I won't have to take nearly as much out of the spring hanger brackets! Way to go?

You'se guys are no fun at all.

Here I post up a pic of a current issue piece of Army equipment and I offer to paint it in bright metallic two-pack, fit alloy wheels and a bunch of unnecessary accessories, including drilling, welding and serious cutting and only Mark takes even the slightest interest.

If it were the Royal Navy in Nelson's time I should have been whipped, keel hauled and made to walk the plank.

No one even hinted at what I was planning was tantamount to treason!

You are all far more restrained than I could have been.

Everglade is a green and the alloy mags are currently down on the farm.

Maybe I'll fit them up in a week or two.
