From what I remember, they originally came with the holes.
then highlifts were deemed taboo so the holes were deleted
    then highlifts were ok again...

I've sent bars off to the swarfies to cut the holes into a bar and regal at least once.

I wasnt planning on getting all rivit counter anorak wearing about the small details just the major varients, (if you want me to list all the minor differences on the vehicles you might as well ask me to print out the individual vehicle history for the fleet. And NO.)

I thought the ARB bars were only on the sallyman 130's and the td5's (so didnt count them because they werent perentie)

87County, no I won't be including details such as the bar because the Buyers guide is mainly for the 'Retail' crowd and focussed on discouraging buyers from stripping the vehicles by educating them on the intrinsic value of originality.

It is seeming more and more likely that there will be a follow up 'Perentie Project history' due to the sheer volume of info I am receiving/ uncovering.
That will be for the rivet counters.
    Cheers, BDave.

I went up to the minto auction yard today with a view to bid on one of the Mack 6x6 trucks, was pretty impressed with the fact that the service history and presentation of the trucks was top rate, less than impressed that you couldn't start the trucks, nor would grays tell me what configurations were coming up in the upcoming auctions...less than ideal.

If that is your main aim [bolded bit] - wouldn't it be better to release it free?

btw - even calling it a perentie would probably cut out most of the "retail" crowd as they probably wouldn't be aware of that name???

isuzurover, I explain better in the 'Buyers Guide' thread what I am doing.
The marketing and final form of the guide (and associated publications) hasn't been finalised yet, but rest assured, you won't have to buy it for me to promote their preservation. I promote AULRO and REMLR (both free sources of info) at every opportunity and only intend charging for the 'juicy'info I uncover through hard research.
In fact, I sent 4 potential members from the auctions this way today.

Weeds, after I have had my way with you, look out

PS, Brisbane has a few Early (first 100) ARNs in this batch!

To any REASONABLE person, they are clearly 5 door vehicles and both ADR compliance plates state 5 seats. This is what your state Authority will take notice of.
As for rear additional seating, prob not much chance in a GS/FFR. You would need to talk to a few engineers to find one that will even consider your plan. Most just want to say NO, too hard, but there are ones out there who will do their job and make a proper assessment.
As the Station wagons have similar seating to the civvy versions, you have a precedent, so shouldn't be a huge issue.
    .
IMHO if you can buy a new toymota troopie with 11 seats, 8 inward facing, lap belts ,then you should be able to register a 10 seat 2 door hard or soft top, as long as the belts meet 85-90 standards.

Frantic, I agree. It should be easy to register as an 'Omnibus'.
The trick is convincing an engineer (and the Authority) that your seatbelt anchors meet or exceed those found in the Civvy LRs. Not impossible, but probably costly.
