Well here's one that really enjoyed his first day as a civilian..... nice rig!

Hello all and congratulations to those that have purchased an ex-military Rover.
I went to the latest auction at Minto as a mate really wanted one of these. I managed to convince him to have a good look before he parted with his hard earned.
I have to say, some of what I saw scared me a little. More than a few of these vehicles are just not road worthy and should never be passed. A few new owners might be up for some big bills in the near future.
Lot 65 is a good example, with some very obvious rust holes in the pillar near the hinge of the passengers side door.
The modified (high roof) FFR listed as "surveillance vehicle" gave us a good laugh. It might have been our eyes, but standing in front, it looked like some part of it was seriously bent on the left hand side. One to many drops from C-130's perhaps?
Anyway, I hope it all goes well for the proud new owners, but these vehicles have had a very hard life and it looked to me like very few of them could pass as road worthy.

G'Day all.
Auction rumour has it that there are some 'Interesting' White fleet vehicles coming soon.
Think: v8 Cruiser with 'Extensive' barwork. The words Special and Response spring to mind.
Nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat, Eh Squire?!
More to follow, Wait out.
Cheers, BDave.

Are the blue slips they are showing pictures of correct?
Even the hardtop / commander / 4 door vehicles show the blue slip as a 2 seater 2 door car.
Does anyone know if the soft tops can be rego'ed / modified to be more than 2 seaters?
Anyone have an opinion on what these old 110's will be selling for as they keep churning out the stock?? Dont they have like 2000+ to offload over the next few years?
I find it hard to believe there are enough hard core enthusiasts willing to pay $12-15k for a 25 year old soft top with unknown (200k+) kms on the clock, no PS no a/c and who knows what other issues?
I WANT one just for fun and to scare the hell out of Smart cars BUT.. they seem pretty overpriced for what they are
Here's hoping they run out of ready buyers and the prices fall off..
