IIRC the cab on a 6X6 is 6" wider and is actually a ROP design.

As for the stick being a long way away, aren't the driver and passenger seating positions located further inboard giving more shoulder room and making the distance to the gearstick relatively the same. If it isn't there is nothing to stop one bending it a little and adding an extension, it's what we used to do with the stubby 80" gearsticks.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I'm not sure the are any more inboard.....as there is a third full size seat in the middle

We used to bent the gear stick a little as it was a bit of a reach.....MAS used to ask us replace the gear stick every bi-annual inspection.

or maybe the seat fittings didn't go as far out as the body went out. I just seem to remember that there was more shoulder room in the 6x6 but I only ever sat in the one on display at a show. The LHD SAS/LRPV demonstrator.

I'll have to check that one out then! Catalog issued at 5:00PM tonight I believe...

Edit : Correction - I was thinking it was an SRV, so my excitement was shortlived!

the senior commander in SA looks pretty sweet, I wonder how much it will go for.

also a few wrecks this time around in NSW which will also be interesting to watch.

even the trailers in NSW look mint

I wish I was in the position to buy something.
Hope there is still plenty to choose from when I finally get the chance in 18 or so months time.

Went to check out the Adelaide offerings yesterday.

Apart from the 2 very nice hard tops, the quality is way down on the last auction. Everything looks pretty tired. Seats that don't match. Missing batteries. Very average canopies. Tyres looking old (most of the last auction had near new tyres on them).

Apparently Grays rejected a whole consignment and sent them back to Sydney (?) because they were unhappy with the standard of what was delivered to them. They called the loaders back the next day, and sent all of them back!!

Anyway - I'd be going for one of the 2 hard tops (if I wanted a hard top). They are currently sitting at $8K and $10K.

    That's my quick summary review

Looking at the Vic offering, there is really only one I would go for - if I wanted one ( I was checking them out for a mate). Most are run of the mill, none refurbished.
I told my mate to bid up on the second choice as he only wants a farm hack. I'd reckon the money will go to the reasonable one. At least they all have good to fairly good tyres & batteries. One is hail damaged and another a frontal smack & distorted bonnet & neither shows on the photo's.
