The hard top can 'handle' on the roof what your driving style and terrain allow. I have personally had a full length roof rack, solar panels, aluminium fishing table, spare tyres, bedding, crab pots, and a substantial boat upside down on the roof of my 'survey' hardtop. The back was loaded with a large honda powered snap freezer (takes up half the load space) and outboard and fuel, food, camp gear, and water drums and other crap like barbecue plates and bits going up the cape and across to the gulf. No idea how heavy but interesting to steer. Like a sailing boat.

Anything you can take off the roof and put inside the better.

    Cheers,
    Brian.

In the hardtop versions apart from the winch and radio dist box what are the dfferences between the snr commander and the personnel carrier?

On these variants what is the seating capacity on the compliance plate?

What is the allowable roof load?

    Thanks in advance

Would a 1990 FFR 110 3.9 soft top have rear disc brakes?

Spudboy, only the Surveillance vehicles had rear disc brakes.

There has been a rumour that the Tenix rebuild process included a rear disc conversion but I have seen no evidence of this.
It is not inconceivable that 1 or more have been converted, but not systemic.
The Discs /calipers are a combination of RR and '83ish 90"components.
If you are looking at Lot3, I would have a long look in the rear internal storage locker (Table) for rust. Going by the water staining visible in the rear, you will see some in there.

Yep - It has some rust in there, and only 1 battery on the passenger side, and no spare wheel.

How did you guess I was looking at Lot 3?????

Another question - in the log book notes, I see that lot 3 has an entry that reads something like this:

49,123 Kms 3/4/2005: REPLACE: Engine. Valves sticking

(Kms and date made up - but something like that)

Does this mean they put in a whole brand new engine, or would it have been a refurbished engine from another unit?

Regarding the compliance plate seating capacity of the senr com. and per. carriers there are no photos. Does anyone know what this is?

Its 5 - as per the compliance plate photo's that are there,.

If you look under Description you will find a tab that says "additional photo's" - click that & open it up when asked.

Depends on what level of repair the unit that made the entry was authorised to work at. If it was a light or medium grade workshop it would have been an engine pull, if it was a heavy grade workshop they would have just pulled the head.

opening guess is that its had an engine change done on it it should be notated in an earlier part of the log book where the vehicle details are recorded (the engine number will have been amended)
