Yeh - I have driven 1 for about 10kms - that is all. And I've had a sit in another one at the local army barracks (they wouldn't let me drive it!). The cabs are surprisingly small for such a big vehicle.

Do you get out of them after a long trip and need some Physio attention?

    The headline says it all.

Are these Oz Army Land Rovers permissible for export to New Zealand? Is there a reputable re-seller with whom I can deal from here rather than fly to the auction site (with the understanding that any re-seller will price to make a profit)?

I wouldn't take a Humvee for free if it was gold-plated and filled with crates of beer but I've been dreaming of getting a British or Australian Army 110 forever.

    Cheers

Some have been shipped to NZL by Frontline for sale by auction.

    G'day Engineered.
Congratulations on making the move to the better side of the Pacific!

As stated, there was an auction in Auckland recently. These weren't the first to cross the ditch.
Contact Australian Frontline Machinery or GraysOnline and enquire if any more are coming over.
To export them, you need to apply for a 'Licence to export ex-military equipment', a formality unless you live in North Korea or Syria ;-)
If you have no luck, I may be able to assist. PM for details.
    Cheers, BDave.

Well, I have given up bidding on the Unimog I was chasing in the Vic auction

Price is now well over $20K, so I am pulling out of that one. Will wait until the next round I guess.

For anyone who is interested in buying one of these, I had a quite a deal of trouble chasing down anyone that would insure a Unimog. I tried NTI (specialist truck insurers), CGU, RAA, QBE, Ken Tame (Specialist RV insurers). None interested.

I the end I could get it added to my Farm Pack for $550pa (too bad if you don't have a farm) or after 3 days of phone calls with Shannons they would cover it for about $500 to a max value of $20K.

Shannons have now added this model to their database, so hopefully anyone else who calls them will have an easier time of it.

    Cheers

(although the number of hardtops of any kind remaining would be very limited)
Thanks - good advice. Will wait til next time around.

    Good luck to those bidding!

good work & info on the insurance -

.. but I am sure that I wouldn't like to sit in the standard driving seat of a mog for a long trip.

Bugger, missed the end of the auctions. How do you go and look at what everything went for? I can't seem to find anything?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I think you need to know the URLs now. I'm planning on taking a copy of all the prices, hopefully later tonight if you can wait. Not home from work yet...

If you know one URL you can just change the lot number. That's how I plan to find them all....
