    Thanks Ron..

I've been messing around with it a bit the last few months...
Pipes, intake, other mods and tuning gave it a 30kw improvement at the tyre and the bottom end torque is just amazing to feel....

Prior to the 260 Metz the old Factory 240 Dunny just barked up every time you gassed it!
Now she hooks up, but I'm only seeing around 2500km per back tyre.

On the hunt for another toy at the moment... V-Strom is looking good...

My inter-continental ballistic yak. I was going to sell it when I bought this:

But the K is just too good at carrying myself and a LOT of gear comfortably. The VFR belonged to a long term family friend of the inlaws who died suddenly. It's a '93 model and had 11,800km and the original tyres when I bought it from his widow last year. Talk about under-utilised! I'm tossing up selling this one now that I have decided to keep the K.

I'm lucky that the Girlie rides too. This is her R65 and the K in Horsham on a half day excursion from the Grampians where we stayed a few days thist time last year. The R65 was bought by my Dad in 1988 as his second coming to bikes, and he taught me to ride it when I was about 13. It rapidly became too small with he and I on it and it was mothballed. Fast forward to last year and we got it back on the road after an extensive rebuild. It's only small, but geez it's fun!

She's taken to touring pretty well! Taken this year at easter near the Coorong river in SA.

I have this for offroading - not that I do much anymore after a big off in the desert.

This is actually the Girlie's second TTR. First one was pinched! It also belonged to the guy who owned the VFR.

    I love bikes...

    Sorry no Pics.
First bike was a Kawasaki GPZ 305,
Now have a 92 Yamaha XJ600, Done over 100,000ks on it now. It just keeps plodding along. Worse part is I do not seem to be able to get out for any long rides these days.
My wife has her license, will buy her a bike once the kids are big enough to go pillion.

    250 XR honda

    400 XR honda

    650XR Honda
any one see the link here? as I became a fat arse I needed a bigger bike

CX 500 Honda. (wiped out by a road train became an amputee)

Cant remember the year of any of them, all over 20 years ago

Current bike an 09 FXD Super Glide Harley Davidson (Forgive me Ron, but it is easy to ride with forward controls as an amputee)

Now that I have the taste for bikes again I think another big single trail bike is in order, this time with an electric start though. I know the XR is still kick start any one know what is out there with electric start and a big thumper??

    Blythe

P.S. no photos as I have never been sucessful with posting one - yes I know there is a big post on how to do it, I am just slack

There was a thread on this a while ago in The Parking Lot,

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/parking-lo...er-riders.html

I have since got another race sidecar, but still have the same GSX-R750 and 1200 Bandit outfit.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyypLLRf3ro"]YouTube - Sidecar Race 1 Barry Sheene Eastern Creek[/ame]

The race sidecar has a 2002 R1 engine putting out 187 bhp, we are enjoying having the power after struggling with the old one with only 133. The Australian Championship starts in two weeks at Eastern Creek, so we are doing lots of pre race prep.

There are some Japanese model XR's still available new in the country with elec leg, but I think they are only 250.
WR Yamaha, CRF Honda, KLX?? Kawasaki, DR and DRZ Suzuki are all electric start, even some of the motocross bikes are now elec leg.
I have just bought the DRZ400EK9, great compromise between a reliable low maintenance bike and high maintenance enduro or motocross bikes. The DRZ is probablly the closest you will find to an XR type bike. All the others CRF Enduro and motocross, YZ/WR, KX/KLX etcare all high maintenance bikes now which is stupid for enduro bikes.
There is a pic of my DRZ a page back.
