Are you sure that crashing is due to the bags? I recently noticed that the pigs front end may need ball joints and track rod replaced (as the rubbers all look split-crushed).
The rear end of my P38 now sports Arnott Gen 3's and I must say that the ride is terrific. The car now soaks up the bumps compared to the OEM Dunlops.
Fitting them was surprisingly simple and I had them both on and inflated in less than and hour and a half. I disabled the EAS system and because I have valves on each bag, was able to deflate the rear bags as I replaced them - easy.
I have not replaced the front bags as they are in good condition, I did note that the bellows section says "Firestone", however I'm thinking of changing them over to Arnotts because during my test drive on a dried mud track, the front end would 'crash' whereas the rear end just glided over the bumps, the difference was very noticeable.

Hoo-Roo,
Dave.
I was probably overdramatising the "crashing", the front suspension is all good. The Arnotts are a lot more softer on the bumps, the Firestones give a harsher ride.
Gen III's are definately softer than OEM's on standard and high modes, and firmer at highway height. That is what they are designed to do. Personally, I like the softer ride at standard height (what I generally use off-road), and use highway mode around town and on the motorway.
I have a few sets of Gen III's here if/when you want some fronts. My prices are a bit more than direct from Arnotts, but my shipping is cheaper and quicker.
Cheers, Paul.

So true. I forgot about the dreaded import duties and the dreaded VAT.![]()
Did you leave it all at the std heights, or did you take advantage of the extra length on the offroad setting?
Now: 2005 L322 Vogue 4.4 M62TU (Black)
Before: 2000 P38A HSE 4.6 - stately capability | 2008 Kluger KX-S | 2004 Forester | 2000 Yamaha XJR1300 | 1993 VR Calais | 1974 HQ Statesman - 308 V8 | HT | HK
All left at standard heights for the time being, but the knowledge that I can jack it up higher is very appealing. Car finances have taken a big hit recently with the autobox rebuild on my wife's Mercedes 560 and the rear bags on my RR, so anything else like new shocks for extended lift is on hold for the moment.
I've got a ton of other things to do to the RR including re-building the brake servo (thanks to Paul's HardRange kit that I bought a while ago) and replace the brake accumulator. I'm also saving up for a Faultmate/Nanocom.....The Mercedes is also taking a lot of my time, a recent constant grumbling suggests I'm going to be replacing a wheel bearing in the very near future.
I'm thinking at some stage of buying a cheap second set of P38 16" wheels that I can put some larger tyres on to take the car off road. The Arnotts appealed to me because they have a lifetime warranty and I think this means that chances of having a spring burst whilst off road minimises.
So far all the jobs have been quite straight forward. The springs were easy to replace, the heater O-rings were easier than I had imagined and repairing the radio was a joy. This has given me the increasing confidence to tackle more difficult jobs.
