    winch solonoid pack placement

The LR fitting instructions for the winch say to put the relay box right next to the engine.

How do others feel about this? I'm worried it'll be to hot for them, but, maybe not.

Has anyone else got their relay pack mounted in this position?

THanks guys. I've been able to find a place next to the battery, so it should be cooler. The LR instructions have it 6 inches away from the exhaust manifold.

I'm loath to put it on the winch itself as some others have, as in the XD9000 instructions it says the relay pack needs to be replaced if it's been under water....

    To true.
That's a bit like when they were developing the freelander 1. The LR engineers bought a few over here for desert (hot) testing; one of the things they wanted to test was dust sealing too.

Knowing this the Ozy LR guys took them through the deepest and longest section of bulldust they could find - to which the result was "what the **** was that!!!"

Concequently the dust sealing on the F1s are supposed to be excellent.
