    Catastrophic radiator failure while 4x4ing

Where's the best place for me to get a radiator pronto in Brisbane and getting a fair deal?

Engine still starts and sounds ok, thankfully.

Radiator is out of the car, looks ok apart from the crack in the top tank. I wonder if a radiator shop can replace the top tank only?

Providing a tank and o ring is available they will. In recent times I have found buying a complete radiator (for all sorts of cars, I am a mechanic) has only been about $20 more expensive than a new tank and a cleanout.

Make sure you get the right one to suit your Vehicle

I've got 2 x of these in the last couple of weeks.... Ebay Seller is quick to ship... No problems/leaks with the Radiators at all.

Good idea to get a new rad. If you have a leak from the join between the tank and core it might be possible to get the crimps re tensioned to get it to re-seal
You then would have a spare.

It's one of those things... at ~$250 for a New One its just better off replacing I think... I thought the same about keeping one of my old ones as a spare... but I looked inside of them and thought better off it....

    radiator

Just had a new top tank on mine, $165.

New one next time. It's not very old but the two fans I've had blow up recently have put some big scars on it, but no leaks yet.
