There is no water in the dipstick, or any other obvious signs of other damage. I do notice though, that the engine fan blade can be rocked forward and backward though, about 15-20mm!, and the movement is definitely in the VC mechanism rather than the water pump shaft. Is this normal? I doubt it. I am thinking about doing a new water pump and the VC at this same time. Thoughts?

Just trying to find a good price and availability of both those things locally. Id rather not wait for UK postage.

Be careful that the Metal Shroud for the Fan isn't cracked/bent... They can fail very easily...

Sent details late Sunday afternoon to "Bob". Had SMS response later that evening and another early Monday morning requesting me to confirm RH outlet before he posted it from Sydney. Was at local PO this morning (Wed) at 8.15 when I cleared the PO box! Excellent service.

It appears to be very well constructed. In addition to the large plastic hex plug underside of bottom tank, there's also a 8 mm diameter fine thread plug with a butterfly head which screws into the (rear) vertical wall of the bottom tank.

Mine arrived today too from Bob, and I ordered on Monday, so I agree, very good service.

Can you see where they were made? I had one with a lead seal marked "Made In UAE", Saudia Arabia. Now if they can`t make a good Rad suitable for hot conditions something is wrong with the world,
And as I said you cant go past the price of these.
Glen, Maybe time to fit a low coolant alarm, My sub $10 dollar effort is still working fine

I'm glad to report that she is running smooth and cool at a solid 84degC only going up a point or two at lights. Been mild days here lately in Bris though. OEM temp guage is sitting in its normal useless spot.

    Hoorah!

Interestingly though, my LTFTs are at +10%, and I dont know if the recent incident is to blame.
