Hopefully your informative page Paul will help keep a few more non castrated P38 on the road.

If I had more problems/experience with my EAS I'd draw up a rough flow chart (boxes with arrows to make it logical diagnostics) for you to add. Well I can give it a go anyway if you'd like but your knowledge of this is far greater than mine.

Any information on height sensor repair or substitution? Or cross-over between differant model?
The Classic was the original EAS, and the pots are either non-existant or $$. Mine suffered dry solder joints, which was an easy fix.
Compressor is the same one, but needs a few exterior alterations to fit either.

A system pressure gauge would be a good idea for leak detection and pump health.

Anyone measured wave-forms on the various inputs to the ECU? - Came across a Classic with a retro-fitted td5. Naturally, the pump would'nt operate 'cos the ECU did'nt have proof the engine was running at all or fast enough. Needs a pulse-train from the (v8) alternator... Such fun, seeing mechanic and owner tearing hair out !

Just as well you suggested a particular course of action, or we might never had got back to the root problem. Might even get wee beastie back next week and then post some pics. Looking at this thread with some clinical interest - ummm!

You can get height sensors for the classics through Island 4x4.

They're a different shaped potentiometer, with a link lead to the classic harness and come with a mounting kit. I was comparing these just the other day to see if I could use them for modifying for the eas lift, but no luck.
