It may be a torque converter problem, or a broken flex plate . But I would have thought you would get some noises.
What did you do to the car before it had the problem ? why where you test driving ?
Have you undone what you fixed ?

Torque convertor is spinning fine. Was parking truck in garage after replacing MAF.

I had the exact same thing happen in a Pajero.
Turned out to be a clogged filter screen in the tranny.
Changed the filter and the oil.
Good as gold.

The filter kit should have a filter, o rings and sump gasket. The Gasket is thick rubber and you most probably would get away using the old one if you cant get one easily.

Well bugger. Filter fitted...took 2.8l fluid. Started truck in N removed bung while idling and fluid overflowed...it obviously isn't been drawn through the system. Booked in at transmission specialist.

When you fitted the maf and were running checks did you rev the engine hard whilst stationary?
You say you filled with 2.8 ltrs, In my experience you get about 5 litres out with a sump off oil change, re-filling takes 4ish to start then the last ltr with the engine running having run it up and down the gear selector a few times

Not after fitting the MAF... I did rev to 3000 and over (sticky throttle cables) to test old MAF. Was using truck for a couple of weeks afterwards no trouble.
