Aha...another P38 victim....errrr...enthusiast.![]()
Should be a comfy drive back home. Nice colour too.
After the missus nagging at me and despite my best intentions, we have now become the proud parents of a 1995 HSE in Brunswick Green with 170k on the clock.
We pick it up from Victoria next week and will spend a few days driving back to Qld.
Guess I'll be trawling through the threads in this section for the foreseeable future.
The previous owner says it's a super reliable car (he would, wouldn't he?), but I'll be carrying some tools and spares, just in case.

I don't know whether to congratulate or commiserate.
Well done. Photo's please.
I'd love to have a low km 4.6 HSE with a sunroof.
Welcome to the fold mate!
Have a browse once you've gone right over it!
What's the plans for your P38? Tourer?
Cheers

Thanks for the welcoming remarks, folks
Kieth, it's actually going to be SWMBO's daily driver, but it'll also do duty for any longer trips that don't require heavy off reading. We've got Slo-Mo for that (Disco 1 lifted and locked, etc).
As soon as I have the chance I'll get some photos up. Plan is to pick it up on Thursday morning.

Hi
Welcome to the madness
You may be surprised how well the stock P38 performs offroad
Steve
I have a pretty good idea of their capabilities off road (owned quite a few Landies over the years, and long hankered after a Rangie ). This one looks real good body and paint wise, so I'll wait until SWMBO puts a few dents and scratches on it.

If you're planning on using the p38 as a daily drive it would be worth knowing the EKA code and how to use it. The earlier models (mine included) hate being parked near mobile phone towers and wireless security cameras. The frequency being used interferes with the key fob remote and will not unlock the door followed by engine immobilized notification.
If the current owner does not know the code, call into the local LR dealer with proof of ownership and they should be able to provide you with the code free of charge.
Enjoy the drive and welcome aboard.

Thanks for the advice, previous owner is a long time Roverphile, and offered that information before I could ask.
Drove from Gippsland to Bendigo yesterday, what a wonderful trip. Plenty of go, and lots of comfort. Pitying the poor people in their Audis and Beemers
