Well, finally got home from Melbourne. Never thought I'd say it, but I'm sorry the trip is over. What a brilliant car to drive - does everything so calmly and serenely (never guess that we like it, would you?).
Got a bit warm on the last leg today, so I'll check out the cooling system tomorrow before we run it out for a roadworthy & rego.

...and the viscous cooling fan hub too - it is easily overlooked.

Seemed to be pushing plenty of air - I'm leaning towards blockages in the radiator core/fins or possibly thermostat. This was originally sold in the UK, then privately imported in 2001. Wonder if it doesn't still have the cold climate thermostat.
It only got warm when the day heated up and we were fighting a cross wind between Narrabri and Moree. This was the single biggest day we put in on the trip. Once the ambient temp cooled off in the late afternoon, temps came down again - not as far as I'd like, but enough to continue the journey at reduced speed Sat on 90 ks fine. (Should have bought some white hats, people would have thought we were two old farts going to Bowls)
