    HRA Bar

Could one of you has Hardy's bar either low or standard profile please tell me if the brackets that connect to the car have crash cans or are just a solid piece of aluminum connecting the bar to the chassis rail on the car?
Even better a photo of how the bar connects to the car would be nice if you can PM me.
    Cheers,
    Remy

    Hi Remy

    Pics as requested.

As far as I know, the HRA bar (mine is the Low Profile) reuses the existing crash-cans.

My HRA bar didn't use the crash cans.

    Willem

Thanks Paul - that is what i thought. If Willem is out there as well i would be interested if any changes were made after the prototype (Paul's). If anyone has a standard i would be interested if the mounting is stronger for the winch bar.
    Thanks again Paul!

    Ron,
Do you mean to say yours doesn't have crash cans in its bracket and bolted straight onto the existing mount i.e. crash can like Pauls?
or were the inbuilt crash cans removed from the car?

There are no crush cans in any of the pics above. the HRA bar bolts directly to the chassis. The chassis has an inbuilt crumple zone aswell on the front and rear of the chassis.

Thanks Andy - i thought the front part of the chassis was the crash cans?
I will take a closer look - but then where do these attach ? in front of the chassis on later models? Anyway i will look today.

Do early P38's have crush cans?

I thought they had a sensor on the gearbox to measure deceleration.

The crash cans were removed and the bar bolted straight to the chassis.

Yes, they bolt to the front of the chassis. The original bumper mounts to them. The two bolts go through the same holes as the bolts on my bull nar.
