Terrific!! Thanks Paul that brings the number too join our exclusive club to 4. We need one more so I can use that silly milestone icon..lolAussie - I've added you to my IM contacts.
Not very kind Coasting, and I suspect you've taken Dave's remarks a bit out of context.
I think Dave was stating that his contacts mainly use the Windows Live/MSN Messenger IM products rather than the more general statement of Windows as an O/S platform. Sure there may be "better" IM products out there, but often corporates and even small businesses restrict the use of IM products to those they are willing to support, if they permit external-facing IM at all.
Skype is a great product I agree (and I use it too sometimes) but as far as I know it does not permit interoperability with other IM products such as Windows Live IM (which I also use sometimes).
Skype has its fair share of vulnerabilities too... do a Google search and you'll see what I mean.
Free IM products that offer value-add services (chat, VOIP, games and adverts) are inherently insecure. It is up to the end user to practice "safe software" by restricting incoming network ports, application level filtering, intrusion detection and anti-virus/malware scanning.
BTW: not wanting to start a religious war but LINUX and Mac are not invulnerable either... they are less common and therefore less targeted than Windows, that's all. Not better, not worse, just different with a much smaller installed base. Don't flame me - I run them all, it's part of what I do for a living. I don't care what you run, but don't assume it is better than the others... and if you do decide to flame anyway, keep these words in mind...
"to be absolutely certain of something, you must know absolutely everything about it, or absolutely nothing"... (I like to keep that one on hand when other 4WD'ers pay out on Landies and Rangies)
Aussie - I've added you to my IM contacts.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul
I apologize to adm333 it wasn't meant to be a wise crack or cheap shot, and I think I may have taken it a little out of context, I hear what you're saying Paul and I agree, I also like your quote very true nice, good ammunition to have ...lol.
Just to change the subject for a sec.... I tried some premium fuel yesterday and there's a marked improvement got 13.07 ltrs per 100 over 300K's usually get around 15.5 to 16. I'm going to Narooma on Tuesday (850K trip) so that will give me a better overall idea, towing a 13ft tinny so I'll let you know how it goes. Sorry adm333 didn't mean to hijack this thread and again sorry no insult intended.

So far I've manged to keep this job as IT Manager of a half billion dollar a year turnover business.
I don't know how long I can keep fooling them
Yes, I forgot to type "Windows Live Messenger" - thanks PaulP38a for pointing that out - and you're other comments. My thoughts exactly.
It's all good. Now, what do I know about Rangies........ the answer to that is always - a lot of things except what i need know to fix the current problem.

Hey Russell
Good on ya. I've been hanging around this site for quite a few years now, and I never get upset about anything...... just try to have a good laugh.
We're all here cause we love Rangies...... then we hate them .....then we love them...... oh you know how it goes.
I had my rear disc machined today, cause it was making a funny noise.
No more funny noise ...... love it again.

Cmon you lot jump on the bandwagon and lets get some more AULROians signing on!!
Yeah, me too. I've somehow managed to keep my staff, clients, employer(s) and colleagues fooled for the past 20 years (am I that old already?).
Goodonya Dave and Russell for being good sports. I didn't want to start a flame here, but I could see comments being easily mis-read and mis-interpreted... the perils of non-verbal communication eh?
Back to the Rangie:
Since I bought the Crewman AWD ute last week, the Rangie hasn't had much lovin' recently so I'd better take it to work tomorrow so it doesn't get jealous and have a dummy spit.
Back to the topic:
Come on you blokes, join Aussie's Windows Live Group... it's not that difficult and you only have to sign on if you feel like it.
If someone needs help, all they have to do is send an IM or PM to the members to log on to Live. Those of us with always-on email via Blackberry/iPhone/Windows Mobile can then decide if they have the time/inclination to help.
For me, it would be cool if Blackberry Messenger integrated with Windows Live, but I don't think it does/can at this stage.
Cheers, Paul.
