Yep, will send you a message
Finally got it painted, been a mission with the unusually humid tropical and windy weather, but all good now. There is alot of work involved and can see why they charge several thousand dollars for a good spray job, but I'm happy with the result, all for about $400 and some elbow grease.
Have started to put it back together, I wired up the new LED front indicators, side indicators, and park lights, and put the newly painted black checker plate back on. Good to see the good old Landy coming back together.
I fitted the new puma type bottom door seals, was straight forward, just drill a few 5mm holes to line up with the plastic push in clips. I'm hopeing they make a bit of a difference, they look like they will be a good improvement.
Does your wife know you raided the Xmas wrapping paper supply? :D
Mate good job on doing it you got me wanting to buy 130 but what is the best one to get thanks Todd
Yeh I did do a bit of raiding when wife wasn't looking! The kids thought it was fun unwrapping the big Christmas present. :)
Have been busy putting it back together, did more trim and soundproofing and now working on the tray which has a new trundle drawer underneath.
The best 130? Very subjective question, but for me it is a turbo intercooled Isuzu one :D but they didn't make em from factory and are rare as hens teeth! A lot of work to make one, either do an engine swap or as I did do a cab swap.
If price isn't an issue a new puma would be a good second choice.
Sorry again for the lack of updates, been too busy working on the Landy, our cape trip coming up quick:o
Have got it all back together and had a couple of test drives, and are happy to say it's a massive improvement in regard to noise:) I know it's probly not an accurate instrument but with the Db app on my phone I did a comparison between a new ford territory diesel and my Landy, both at 100kph, and both read 102Db. I also checked my speedo (from 300tdi) with GPS and it is spot on (old speedo was about 10kph out). Still not a rolls royce but you can now have a conversation on the HWY, and the vehicle now feels smoother.
Have finished off more of the interior, I fitted some closed cell foam aldi fittness mats to the floor front and back, seat box's and transmittion tunnel. Looks alot better, it has a textured finish, and would have added a bit more sound proofing. Also put the seat covers back on after a wash, came up like new. Finished wiring up the new rear LED lights with the load resistors and all work well.
I was going to make a new tray but decided time is runing out so fixed up the old one. I made all new mounting points and raised it 40mm to fit an under tray drawer.
I got the windows tinted to give the AC a hand, looks good but he couldn't tint the two small curved corner windows cos the tint kept puckering up. He had never done a 130 before or had a window he couldn't tint, at least he didn't charge me full price and said he will try and find out how to do it. Anyone else had their 130 tinted?
Cheers,
Andrew
