D2 belongs to my mate it's an animal!! Worked TD5 2" lift and Mickey T's 265/75/16's

Ute weighs 2400 fully fueled (140L) handles very well would have liked it to be a bit lighter say around 2T

I bet if you showed him the Eng cert straight away he wouldn't have bothered looking so hard.

Very nice build BTW, quite neat.

    Just a little update -

Ute has been great done a hand full of touring trips a few hardish ones all going very well balanced.

Did a photo shoot in 4WD Monthly which was cool. still a few months before that comes out.

Mate and are currently planing a trip up North over Easter for 2 weeks which will be cool but i cant carry 2 weeks worth of supplies on the current tray so i started thinking and as my wife says that is never a good thing.....

Pictures i took during the 4wd Monthly Shoot -

    Tray i found on Ebay

Was from a S2 Land Rover that used to hang around Sorrento in Melbourne. Not sure what it did but all the steel on the tray is very badly rusted. So it need a bit of work and every bolt had to be undone with a grinder!! Any keeping it in the family 8)

Haven't finish yet still need to mount the side, tool boxes and spare under the tray but the hard stuff is done. It's so damn lite i might have to change the rear springs as it feels like i have leaf spring in the rear will wait and see what it rides like with the long range tank and camping gear loaded before i change the springs

I thought I would post a few pics of my last trip. Probably my last post in this thread as i am finished with the build it's my DD and weekender (unless i come across a VNT turbo and manifold) at the right price....

Melb - Uluru - Robe - Melb 8 days, 5726Km, 733L of Diesel about 12.8L per 100. only problem i had was the top intercooler hose blew it self apart on the 2nd day so i bodge something up with some spares i had (and it got me home). Apart from that i just kept feeding it fuel and enjoyed my trip!

Just some pics with the Disco in them
