    350 to 95 disco

Well here we have a well worn in disco, 226.oooklms, we put Tojo centres, lux CV's and Air lockers in with 4.1's some time ago, now its time for a little more horsepower Motor is heading to PSI250

Started at 1600ish and as off about 2000 this is what we had,

remember no rush alot of beer MUST be consumed while doing this, plus me head was mush from being up since 1700 the day before

So take 1 adaptor plate I had and a 350chev that just happened to be lying around to, order a crankshaft aqdaptor from Marks, now today I'm finally awake, didn't get to bed till 2345 last night, I'll head to town and get the appropriate capheads and machine up a dolly to get the ****ing spigot adaptor out, spent 3 hours, grease -dolly -belt -belt, grease -dolly belt -belt and the faucking thing just wouldn't move, so i'll try a tighter dolly if that doesn't work it'll be the drill and die grinder

    I'll take more pics today

Sure is a ZF, yea original kays to, the car looks rough but its pretty well maintained, just never washed and the 350 is only a crate motor with a boat cam, still better than a rover motor but

Instead of packing grease into the spigot bearing in the flywheel to push it out, replace grease with wet toilet paper, has worked every time for me, you will need some upgraded springs, that Chev boat (anchor) motor is abot 100kgs heavier than the Rover, Regards Frank.

Interesting thread. Curious to see how it all goes.

Just to clarify, driveline wise you've got landcruiser centres, hilux cvs and the rest is std rover gear or have you got Maxi axles etc. Rover hubs? Is the 350 a ULP motor? EFI or carbs?

Long gone, stopped bothering calling your mate, told me he was coming a few times, then said he'd call another time, never bothered, in the weather, with the hoses taped now

Well the spigot adaptor is out total time........probably 6 bloody hours, how did we finally do it after I turned up a decent shaft more grease and bash, then steering wheel puller and harmonic balance puller

    Nothing a MIG can't fix

Lesson 2, whenever you pull the bellhousing of a ZF, don't knock the front housing and pump off, it takes another 1.5hrs to line it up and refit it, try lining 2 sets of clutches up and a splined section, I was about to throw my first violent wobbly in near 6 years after that

Productive day? well, I'm where I'd of liked to have been yesterday
