    Talking My d1 rearbar..........

I thought i should start a thread on my progress so far

First i welded crush tubes into where i planed to mount it, then i gave the whole rear part of the chassis a coat of ex-trol, then painted over it with some cheap black..

Then we made up the mounting brackets out of 5 or 6mm plate (can't remember)
I'm using 12mm 8.8 high tensile bolts (4 of) probebly an over kill but i plan on mounting recovery points on it aswell

    Chocked up in position...

Cutting the rear pannel to allow for the bar to rap right round the side for more protection..

    Cut off..

Thats all we got done today, more to come tomorrow, should get it tacked into position with all the bends done
We've already got one bent cut and ready to weld

    Looking Good,
I am still having trouble just thinking about puting grinder to the guards.
I now it needs to be done but just the thought of it cutting up a perfectly good undamaged car.

looking forward to the rest of the thread.

    Thanks guys!!!
Once you get going on making it it isn't that hard as long as you have the tools
We used-drill press, welder, cut-off saw, angle grinder, power drill and thats about it apart from the hammer
Should get some more done today

    Rear bar

    Hey tim

Looking good mate keep up the good work. But pls put the guard back on the grinder. Those new ultra cutting discs can be leathal. A guy up here bled out and died after a piece of a disc lodged in his throat. No guard on the grinder!!!!!!.

    Take it easy

    Justin
