Ok, didnt get much done today, as we both had ebay stuff to pack and send out. (try to pack and send a p38 bonnet and bumper to perth without getting damaged!). But i still put in a few hours.

Some new-er tray sides were donated, which fell off the back of a truck (no really :D). They were gal under the paint, and are in alot better nick than the other ones.

There were only the 2 sides, no tailgate. Luckily being from a truck, they were way too long, so i was able to cut the 2 up and make 3.
Heres my dodgey gal weld, before grinding smooth.

Because it is having a canvas back, i need to make a frame, with a bar at the rear. The easiest way to get it exactly the same shape and height as the headboard, is to build it up against it.

Thats where i got to tonight.......tomorrow the wheels should be back from neals
Awesome project...
just a quick maybe idea.
My 130 gets used for probably much the same tasks out of Cooktown as this 130 will in Arnhem - Your tray looks a smidge heavier than mine but will probably get loaded the same as!!!! read that as 44s of boat fuel, motors, generators, eskies full of ice etc etc.
Have a good close look at the tray / chassis attachments. If like Im guessing it only has 2 points of attachment at the front of the tray maybe try to build in a second pair up front tying into the main cross member. And then gusset up the chassis mounts. The rear cross member seems to hold up okay, but as you pack most weight up against the headboard, the front mounts take a hiding. The LRover chassis mounts will crack under load on corries. Easier to do it now in the workshop I imagine than up north?

Removed the radiator, intercooler and A/C condenser and dropped them off at our radiator fellow for a clean, the radiator to have it's core rodded and the condenser to be externally cleaned and repainted. They will be ready on Tuesday after the long weekend
