I started fitting the bullbar today. I wish i had more time, i would love to cut an inch or 2 out of the brackets for a better approach angle like my county.....Winch is in, repairs done and all ready for spotlights, side rails and paint. I also need to drill a few more holes in the chassis.

Most just call her Sharon.
There are a few local dialect names she is called - depending on who is speaking to her, but it is all too confusing to explain.
Next time you come around we'll try and explain the kinship system, but it is very difficult to understand unless you are part of it.

Just an aside there's reports of 2 crocs hanging around the Goyder crossing. I believe they are only 2m - 3m in size.

Went to the paint supplier for more thinners and reducer
removed tyres off the rims in readiness for painting - no guess what colour. The tyre machine saves the back!!

Prepared for accessories - wiring. Driving lights, fridge, HF radio, UHF radio, reversing camera, fuel transfer pump, etc ..... Made some rough drawings, found some relays, ordered a dual battery isolator and rocker switches,
Having worked in industrial electrical engineering for yonks, one accumulates some bits. The coloured cable is 6 sqmm flrxible, one roll of the grey is 2.5 sqmm 5 core black numbered which I strip back and the other grey is 7 core .75 sq mm flexible

Cleaned and prepared the tray sides for paint. These were in a bit of a state - needed scrubbing, then a rough sand, then clean with thinners and next will be prepsol before painting

We also faxed off our track permits for the Gove Road for the Northern Lands Council.

We made a start on wiring extras late this afternoon, I have unstalled 5 additional switches, 2 for roof lights, 1 for driving lights, 1 for a fuel transfer pump and one for rear work lights. The switches chosen are rated at 20 amps even though all will be operated in conjunction with a relay. Presently onsyalling wiring to switch block.

The fuse box and relays will be in the void behind the rear passenger door,. Not much to show yet, but hope to complete most tomorrow.

Installed wiring to the fuel transfer pump. UHF radio, HF radio, HID lights and driving lights. The next pic is half way through driving light installation. I instal an earth poing near to outputs and wire these back to the earth point near the chassis, thus not relying on panel bolts for condution. I also ran the driving light wiring in metal flex conduit to avoid chafing of the cables.

Fuse box / relays almost complete. Still have to run fridge, compressor, rear light and roof spots, once the tray is complete, but the relays and fuses for these are installed. Again the earth poing can be seen on the left of the pic.
