Well Dale, It's almost 10.00pm Friday and the boys are still out there working hard.
Almost bedtime for me.
I guess they'll post more pics tomorrow.

Day 38
Put the sides and frame on the back to measure up for the tray tarp cover. Next pic is with our very good friend Leanne who has volunteered to make the cover.

Measuring and cutting the material for the tray sides. We are going to use a strong velcro instead of zippers

Spent about 4 hours tidying up the bullbar and prepared it for paint Guess what colour
The pic was taken before the 2 pack clear coat was applied

Bit the bullet and bought 2 new batteries - These will easily fit under the passenger seat.

Love this build!
:D
Heres an update on the tray. I welded 8 more tie down points on the headboard, just bits of roundbar offcuts welded in the corners.

I have almost finished the pockets on the rear. I have adapted the old front flairs from the front to the rear, as the offset wheels stuck out a few inches past the edge of the tray.

I may not work for lincoln anymore, but they make awsome welders. they are so easy to use. I am not a sheety or a boilder maker by any means (i wish i was), but the welds are turning out very nicely.

Hi andrew_e
Just as a side to this build , re: your comments above about not being a sheety or Boiler maker , It's never too late  take me as an example , I'm going to TAFE 2 nights a week and I only started this course up as a hobby
Some outside pics of the car in the daylight.

The reason for the funny hole in the guard is so the LRX vent can be mounted on the top.

well done , looks owesome:thumbsup:
Christmas is coming up... may I have one too please? :D:D
I must admit to being somewhat staggered by the amount of work you are putting into this 130. I hope your daughter appreciates it!
Very impressive.
John
You didn't paint the door handles white:o
Are you putting an over sized intercooler in it for them? Even without rechipping this will make a difference to the performance up here in the heat.
Looking good I'm going to have to keep an eye out for when they drive it into Town. Though with that sound system I may just hear it coming even if I'm driving the Tdi.
Look forward to having a beer when you guys get here.
