I'm on my way to the RTA to sort out a solution for these number plates I know one thing.... They're not getting their hands on them if I can help it.
I may have to transfer them onto the 120" for a wile in the worst case scenario.

Just read through this thread from start to finish. Sound like this car is the epitome of what Land Rovers are all about. So many feelings, emotion and history all packed into to one simple vehicle. Bloody love it.

RR, you really are a legend mate. I'm really happy that someone like you has got a hold of this vehicle. I know you'll do a good job 'restoring' her and that you have the right mindset about not butchering her and restoring her to brand new. It's lovely.

Anyhoo, I use to do documentaries and such for SBS so if you ever decide to film what you're doing and want to make a short mini doco about it, gimme a yell. More than happy to contribute somehow.
    Cheers

    Now that would be good.

Cover the restoration and try to find the others.

You'd probably get an hour show out of it if you included the other Leyland Brother Landrovers how they were used and background info of the early Leyland Brother expeditions.
    I'd even buy the DVD.

    regards
    Mick

    Tony, guess what??
    I POSTED IT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy, you'll love it, there's even a repair they attempt that happened to me years ago up at Mount Beauty and we ended up doing the same thing they did.

I love the interior shots you have above, my S11a Dormobile had the same door trims and handles, I'd forgotten how they looked.

It's a great thing you are doing.

Edit: I think I got the job, there was a message on the phone this evening from the principal of the school that I applied at, I'm guessing he wants to talk money, start date etc......
More money comming for my favorite money pit.......

It's a 3Gb file unedited, not sure of the size after editing as the burning software I used deletes the temporary files after burning.
If you can wait a little while, I'm happy to edit/burn another one and send it to you.
It would be a shame to over compress the video, perhaps I'll try a few runs to mpeg4 at different qualities and see how it comes out.....

There may also be copyright issues with youtube etc....

    I am soooooo stoked.
Went to the local swap meet this morning and found a copy of the "Off the Beaten Track" book. In great condition too for $3. w000h000.

Rangie Rover, did you manage to get a copy of the book? Are those scans good enough for you? I'm slightly hesitant to give this book away as I'd love to show it to my future kids and all, but I'm more than happy to send it over to you for a little while if you want to have a look.

    Great find! Look after it.

I managed to get two of the books.... Off the beaten track and further off the beaten track now in a folder and belong with the Series 2a.
    Thanks for the offer anyway

    Tony
