G'day All, I note that he hasn't shown the brass ID tag with it's ARN on it, as he claims it's ex W/l\D, also I wonder what that rather large gal/washer with a extra long bolt sticking out if it is for ??, just behind the throttle cross shaft on the bulkhead, other than that very neat S1 cheers Dennis
I didn't think the early S1's had the square hole for the shaft to engage hi range??, early S1's not my strong point..

For a car with a highly-polished look, I am surprised that the engine looks so care-worn - tatty and obviously unrestored distributor and radiator; strange colour on the air cleaner; rusty manifold etc.

There is a brass plate on the inner wing, which might be an M.O.D. one but then again it could be off any car. It is relatively easy to find out the history of British ex-military cars, so I am surprised that firstly; it is not mentioned and secondly; that such a shiny in-appropriate paint job has been applied, rather than trying to preserve or re-create this car's military history.

Would I pay more than US$21 000 for this car? No way! If it looked like in did in service, I could be seriously tempted.

Yet another car with its history erased

Very nice but "period two pack paint", 2L engine and a number of other out of place bits, must make some of the 80" wondering around in Aus worth 50Grand.
