    G'day Nostromo

There is a possability that that 57660398 may have an engine in the 57100001+ range as that was early 55 and possibly very late 54 manufacture (55model)post August/Sept as that range is only listed as 1955 model by the master parts book on engine and clutch assys
and seeing that 0398 is very early in the vehicle run that is a chance.

    Hope that is of help

To look for the engine number, it's on the front top Left Hand Side of the engine, ( your RHS when standing in front of the Landy ), its stamped on it's side vertically at the front of the machined face for the exhaust manifold.

If the numbers are badly rusted and hard to see, dab a little battery acid on that spot and leave for fifteen minutes or so and then wash the acid off with plenty of water with a table spoon of laundry washing powder in it to neutralise the acid.

    Hi Pedro_The_Swift

I was actually looking for another thread about Aussie built Range Rovers that I posted on, after UncleHo asked me a question.

I see the forum now has a "view your post" button I had not noticed before. Makes it easier to find old threads you posted in.

    Hi Keith

I have a problem, it's that I have to look through about two grands worth of my postings and the search button works too well bringing up the references asked for, over all the forum !
