    Is that front drive shaft in the wrong way round, or did they wear them that way in the series ones?

    Looks the correct way around to me. Female end always pointing towards the ground.

    Also if you think about how a narrow spring/spring shackled at the front vehicle works in relation to prop shaft angles compared to the back it's exactly the same as the rear but in the reverse.

    Don't Know about the S1. But all ways spline end on front drive shaft towards the diff on the S2/3 in my experience.

    S2/S3 are different. The way it is as above is correct. Nice to see your genuine Ally Rover Waterpump. Be careful they are a pain to get off...

    Yep, already had a taste of that problem with the block where the hoses connect. One bolt fused into the block and taken off with a hacksaw.
