    Horrace gets a workover

    So i have finally settled on a name for the 80 inch. He is now Horrace. I havent done a lot with Horrace since i bought him way back here Look what followed me home, can I keep it......
    I have stripped the front panels and bulkhead out and radiator etc. I am about to lift the motor out once some stubborn bolts have had a soak in diesel. The motor will then go on a stand for a slow full rebuild. The gearbox will get the same treatment. Once the motor and box are out the rest of the panels will be coming off and the chassis will be getting moved out of the garage.
    It will be a slow process, well its only taken me four years to get this far cant rush into these things.
    And i know "rulez" pictures will be taken and put up tomorrow.
    Anyway i will document the resto of Horrace here for all to see.
    By the way if anyone finds a 'lights behind grill' grill floating around then i would be very keen to know about it.

    Looks good. If I was you. I would be leaving it just as it is. In saying that What are you going to do about the firewall as the rust in the top box looks a bit nasty.. So perhaps a full rebuild is the only option.

    Do the mechanicals, Axles, Engine gearbox etc. Maybe a new loom if it requires. Just get it on the road as it is.

    I would love to come and have a look at this vehicle as it's quite an early Annand and Thompson 1950 Model.

    You are welcome to come and look however she is in a lot more pieces now. It looks better in photos than it is. The bulkhead is going to need a ton of work by someone with decent welding skill to bring it back. The car has some rust issues underneath that need sorting and the engine is now out and in need of a full rebuild. The gearbox will be getting the same treatment while i can access it easily. The braking system is non existent due to rust so needs to be completely re done and the wiring is cactus so a new loom will have to go in. Apart from that its perfect . I do have the correct radiator panel now and i have a set of repro Butler lamps so i want to put the correct grill back on it.

    Glad to see another 1950 80" being restored, i think that your going to have a great little Landy when its finished

    hi i have a 1950 coming in to break up i was told it has a full grill if not repros bob jones uk he is making them

    With all these restorations going on maybe i should start work on my 1950 80" ive only been saying that since 1992
