Hi,
Nice find, its a 1953 CKD (number 791 of this series) with a positive earth 2 1/4 in it. Judging by the manifold its not a really early one though.
Is that a split rim on the front left? Well worth saving if it is!
Well spotted
Nice hard top, a bit hard to tell if it is 80 or 86/88 from the angle but assume you had a good look. Its a pitty the back has been cutout of it but one could fix this panel with a later 86/88 piece stuck in and hidden with the corner gal strips.
I think it is an 88 hardtop because of the rear canvas attachment plates visible from inside the metal canopy and the later reinforced strap slots in the plates. Not sure if separate rear canvas canopies were originally available for 80" metal ute cabs. The few 80" ute cab hardtops I have seen had no attachment plates, interested to know if they also exist.
Note that the transmission tunnel has been modified to allow the 2 1/4 and later box to be fitted. They are quite fun to drive with these engines in, much nicer than a Holden.
Cheers
