Thanks for the info guys I'm still new to the Landies so it's a learning curve, just went and checked the rear left spring hanger, scraped it back to metal and gave it a sand, unfortunately there was no number, also had a scratch around the front right and couldn't see any numbers. has anyone got a pic of where the chassis number should be as I might not be looking in the right spot.

It definitely looks looks like a S1 107". What is the distance between the back of the wheel arch to the firewall (door pillar)? If it is 8" (roughly) it is a 107" and definately a S1 , if the distance is 10" then it is a 109" and could be a S1 or S2.

It is definitely a s1 I normally measure axle to axle I see someone has put lights on the fenders( that is a shame).
The body looks like it really good though and photos of the interior? what is the rust like in the chassis and the firewall?

That there is definetly a Series 1, the flat sides give it away! It is a very weird Series 1 cause of those guards with the 'Bug Eye' headlights and curved edges, probably off a late IIA.

It's not the first one I've seen done like that, it's done when Holden six conversion is done as there is not enough room as the radiator has to be moved forward so the lights are moved to the mudguards

Thanks Tony. Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best. Why didn't I think of measuring the axle distance.

There is some rust on the drivers side fire wall and door frame, the interior seems to be all there but is a bit weathered, dash centre needs to be put back in, seat foam looks bad but covers look ok, the chassis looks good with the exception of the rear bar below the tail lights but that should be a easy fix, there's signs of bog in the r/h front guard. I'm bringing it home on the weekend so will no more then. I'm really looking forward to this project, I've been a Holden guy all my life so the engine will be easy but every thing else is a learning curve for me, I think It will fun project
