    Turning Maurice

Reckon many would have Maurice still using microfich slides to find part numbers as well and watching black and white telly if he were alive - poor bugger - consigned to live in the past.

That said I agree completely with the yellow (I am an offender) and wish they'd produce plain black ones but guess the is a UV justification / complication there somewhere.

Anyone getting only a year from standard bushes is - as Andy said - doing a one step tightening. My dislike of the originals comes from my lack of a press to remove the outer tube when they finally fail. The best solution I found was a thin layer of copperslip before fitting.... but in these days of convenience I sucummed to poly....

Measure the chassis width of your S1 against your S2C/R, under the front spring rear shackle, that should tell you if they are a different width, cheers Dennis

I seem to think that the chassis bush for the Series 3 109 (front) is a larger diameter than the earlier Series L/R bushes, someone will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong cheers Dennis

The longer one is the front chassis bush on S111. All the others are the same.

I use Poly - but have to cut the rear down to fit the narrower rear S1 springs

We had this discussion with Diana in my Royal thread.
My parts book shows two short bushes so I cut down two of the longer standard rubber bushes and pressed them in.
The inner tubes have to butt together, the outers are a bit shorter same as the original.
