    Thermostat housing plug thread

I am trying to ascertain the thread so I can purchase a reducing nipple to accept a temp sender.

    The thread is parallel.

Give Chazza a pm as he reproduces these housings so he may have the adaptors you need or know the thread size.

I use a 1/2" BSP thread when I make the housing; this allows a 1/2" valve from the local hardware store to be used as the control for the heater.

For my 80" I used pedal bushes from the UK. They will need reaming once they are installed; I used an expandable reamer I bought on eBay.

Google the part number for the bush for your car and you should get some hits - I can't remember where I bought mine from,

    Cheers Charlie

If you press the bush out and take to a bearing supplier (or just take the dimensions) they should be able to source something similar.

I drilled and taped my housing for a unf fitting from supercrap then picked the adaprpter to suit the gauge( non l rover gauge though)... Easy as on an aloy housing... With the cast it needed a good soak in molasis to get the rust scale off
Holdens in the uk have the correct threaded peices for water/ oil pressure gauges as well as the pip pressure t peice( a bit over a weeks delivery but there site ill give you the thread and size)
