    Hi Mate,

Technically I think that depending on the year - you can get away with not having blinkers.. You would need to check the ADR to find out when Blinkers became mandatory.

Having said that - I installed blinkers on both of my Series II's - purely from a safety perspective, and also to make it easier when I registered the vehicle...

    paint update

more painting and now the front panel on p/side is done, as well as the outer panel for the p/side. will need to see how they come together as one panel and then do more touch ups if needed, leaning towards making another hole for the blinker and just getting defender lights as they are cheaper then the series ones. they may not be period correct but they are cheaper to purchase. ordered two rear chassis grab handles from Uk expecting them to arrive this week again off a defender then a series one but to me they look identical expect for minor differences.

    paint update

1-2 dug out my p/side guard to have a look at condition and work required, front panel will need removing as it housed a headlight

3 front panel removed, headlight previously removed, underside of guard with that horrible sound deadening material which is a pain to remove, removed some of it for now

4 small cover panel removed and sanded ready for paint

5 guard inner face cleaned and prepped for paint

6 cover panel or access panel painted one side waiting to dry, paint other side when ready

7 only the inner face painted for now, sick of painting all these panels to be honest

    more paint

1 top of one of the guard painted waiting for it to dry, i think now most of my panels are painted except the inside of the rear tub

2 the access panel forget which side this is bolted to and what its used for, mine has holden 186 so prob wont need but will bolt up anyway, this is the other side painted allowing to dry

next will be to bolt up the pieces of guard to make whole again as one piece, am missing a good front panel for the guard on one side as most of mine had cut out headlights into the guard

    guard access panel painted

just re painted the bottom of this access panel as the underside of the guards will be painted black i mistakenly painted this panel green both sides, quick spray of black so that it blends in with the underside of the guard (colour black) again not sure why it has an access point. Needs to dry so that i can attach to the guard.

    Seat bases

Well it was on, council pick up that is so was out looking for a couch in reasonable condition and picked up 3 seat bases and stripped the outer fabric to expose my foam which was sourced for free

1 first dilemma how to cut the foam, Stanley knife was way too short so found this which worked a treat

2 first one done, measured the seat base against the foam, marked out and cut

3 all three done, just need to go back to Spotlight where i noticed some leather or vinyl in a nice dark green sold by the mtr to purchase and wrap and then the seat bases will be done

Electric knife is fantastic for cutting and shaping foam.
