There is something NQR about the brakes.
What is the silver tube with flattened ends between the shoes ? Has this been fitted because the adjustment snail has been removed ??
There are also springs that hold the shoes against the backplate that are not usually fitted on a Land Rover.
I guess the brakes have been 'modified' in the past, hopefully they will work when you get it back together.
Fixing an oil leak on a semi-floating axle means access to a 20T press and oxy acetylene. There is an interference fit collar that has to be pressed off the drive shaft. Hopefully you don't find that some clown has welded the collar in place (as I did with mine !).
