Thread: Paddock Find 107

Hi All,

I had a telephone call during the week "I've got a Series I that I have to get rid of - are you interested?"

I don't really have the room, and I've got plenty of projects already - but I had to save it.

I left home at 7am on Saturday and the day didn't exactly go as planned - the winch handle for the trailer was missing. This meant that I had to winch the vehicle up on the trailer using an adjustable spanner.. I got there in the end but it was fun.



And here is the paddock find:



The guard is in the tub:



PTO - it turns over by hand:





Engine - is it a 2.0 ltr?

I went through the tub - the grill, front guard, some lights and a lot of branches are in there..



Front wheeling hubs:



The interior - I think that the seats have been recovered, they look good:

The only bad part that I have found so far is - the top of the firewall:



I have parked the vehicle up for now - at least it is under cover and out of the weather.

The problems that I found on initial inspection:

* Rust on the top rail of the firewall
* Wiring - new wiring harness required
* At least one wheel stud has sheared off
* Missing wheel nuts
* Paint - somebody has started to strip the paint off with a wire brush I rekon.

The steering wheel has the horn button on it - although the centre cap is broken...

It will be a good project but a big one in my eyes..

107's are coming out of the woodwork now it seems. I must drag mine out of the shed and start its refurb. Should have a load of them at the 75th.

Not sure of the year yet - I am struggling to find a Serial Number. I have looked:

Rear passenger side spring hanger
Front passenger side top of chassis near brake line
Engine number-can only make out the first 2 digits “11...”
No plate on the inside firewall.

Happy for other suggestions??
