If theres one thing ive learnt about this sort of caper it is that going cheap is generally a waste of time, and money.Quote:

Spend what needs to be spent to get it done properly.
If you cant afford what it costs to do it properly then wait, and save.
Do it right, do it once. ;)

i am going to get quality but even when buying quality you can stilll save money by shopping around.i might end up getting all my bearings at the singleton place now
Hi there, I started restoring my S1 , 1952 landie back in 1984 and completed it in 1992. It was a long haul. Back then there was no internet , and most of my parts came from England. Communication was by mail to Craddocks or Blanchard's. The turnaround took up to or well over eight weeks for most things. I still have their old catalogues, they still make interesting reading. With the internet you will find it much easier to find things very quickly. In those days there were lots of parts available in most dealers for series one's, but its getting much harder now to find what you require. Simply because the supply is running out, but on the bright side, there are many re- manufactured parts available that were not there back in the late eighty's. I did mine from a bare chassis (look at my folders of the restoration pics). If you have the time and money that's the way to start. If you need some advice, please ask me and I will try to assist if possible. good luck :D
