just wondering how long/hard is it to strip a gearbox or engine and how long/hard is it to put a gearbox back together and what should i look for to replace
Stripping a gearbox is easy - its putting it back together that gets tricky! :eek2: :p

Go ahead and strip it down there is plenty of help here to guide you through.

Yep, I agree. They are really a vintage car box so very simple to work with. Just depends how bad it is. You will have no trouble pulling it down or resembling it. Just have to identify what is tired in there and get rid of any end float. Make sure the detent springs are good.Quote:

a long night :eek: cleaning but i have all the tranfer apart and cleaned just need to get new bearings, seals and gaskets aswell as prob abit of machining.more bad news found more problems with the chassis it is split in some pieces i just hope that it is not rusted there aswell ;)
