Early Series II clutch operating lever

    Hi All,

I have a early Series II, and it is fitted with the early type clutch operating lever

I have also posted up a picture of a Series IIA so that people can see the difference in the lever type and housing. Early type on the right and late on the left.

As you can see from the following picture the operating lever is very worn. Where is the best place to source a suitable replacement?

Does anyone know if replacements are available or will I have to fabricate up a new lever? I was thinking either:

    (a) get a new one

    (b) try and cut out old shaft, drill out the old shaft and get a new one machined up

    (c) get a complete new shaft and lever machined up.

I did want to try and keep things as original as possible....

    Cheers, James

If anyone has one and wants to part with it PM me!

the lever looks fine, its the pivot thats stuffed...

into the lathe with it, smooth it off then sleeve it and overbore the bracket to the new dimension.

Make up some spare sleeving while your at it to keep as a spare stock just in case.
