    Looks great Like the photos.

I want the sun hood (the thing fixed to the windscreen, not sure of the correct term). I used to have one on my 1969 S2a. Does anybody know if you can still buy them?

    regards
    Steve

A year or so ago Hyway Accessories listed Eyebrow Sun Visors for Land Rovers, but I can't find them on their website now-everything else from Camrys to Macks are there!

Thanks everyone. Started going through it and everything that came with it. The guy have me a fair bit of spare parts, but I have found the water pump is no good. It has a fair bit of movement in the shaft. I'm told there are 2 pumps identified by the number of bolt holes 8&9, one is rebuildable one is a replacement. I have been quoted around 175 for the rebuild kit and around 250 if it is the replaceable one. Does that sound like a fair price? Any recommended suppliers?

Thats too pricey! If its a 2.25 litre engine the one you're likely after is this one:
Land rover Series 2a-3 New 4 cyl water pump | eBay
which is what I and many others use. It is one of the better Britpart products, unlike some of their gear.

Thanks. That will sort it out. What carburetor should it have on it? The PO said he ditched the original air cleaner as it was an oil bath type. Just wondering what I would need to get it back to totally original.

It should have a Solex carby on it, and given that you have a paper element filter fitted (likely Holden) I rather suspect someone has fitted a Stromberg BXUV-2

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Yeah it has a stromberg. I will check the carb in the box of parts and see what it is. If not any ideas where to get a carb and orig air cleaner?

    Wow what a lovely find.

I have a 1960 model year too, but LHD, and horribly mutilated by previous owners. I have replaced my chassis as it was paper thin just in front of the front mountings of the rear springs, as well as the rear cross-member being rusted through. Please keep posting pictures.

Don't forget the series 2 club in the UK can help you with details and pictures if you are unsure of anything.

Do you know your chassis number by any chance? Be interesting to see the differences between CKD and Solihul built.

    Hi Roger

We mentioned earlier that the vehicle was a UK built RHD Export Model, so it should be essentially the same as your LHD Export model.

Welcome to AULRO by the way.
